Every year, the Wharton Impact Investing Partners (WIIP) seeks for-profit enterprises who are raising $250K – $1M, and whose mission statements incorporate a dedicated goal of positive social or environmental impact.
In addition to this opportunity, WIIP participates in the annual MBA Impact Investing Network and Training (MIINT), an exciting initiative sponsored by Bridges Ventures and the Wharton Social Impact Initiative. MIINT culminates in a yearly competition among students from leading business schools, and the winner of this competition wins the opportunity to receive a $50,000 investment from an independent investor. See the blog entry from the 2013 winner, LearnSprout, about working with WIIP.
By participating in our investment process, entrepreneurs benefit in a variety of ways, including:
Possible funding from accredited independent investors through Locust Walk Impact Partners and OurCrowd, as well as the MIINT competition
WIIP-led diligence and strategy projects
Potential for Wharton students to act as interns with the entrepreneur
August – November: Submissions accepted
